Sedated Distal Limb CT
Cone Beam
Standing CT Imaging
for Distal Limb Evaluation
At Friendship Veterinary Imaging Center, we provide Sedated Distal Limb Computed Tomography (CT) using Cone Beam technology — a three-dimensional imaging tool that allows veterinarians more complete assessment of the bones of the distal limbs. Unlike traditional radiographs, which create flat, CT imaging captures cross-sectional views that evaluate bone detail in multiple planes.
This service is performed with your patient standing and sedated. Veterinary clinicians find this particularly valuable when radiographs are inconclusive but clinical signs such as localized lameness persist.
Why Choose Distal Limb CT?
- 3D visualization of bones that cannot be fully assessed on standard radiographs.
- Non-anesthetic procedure using sedation to maximize safety.
- Improved diagnostic confidence and planning for lameness workups and treatment direction.
By generating cross-sectional images that eliminate the overlapping structures seen on radiographs, CT imaging reveals pathology such as subtle fractures, subchondral disease, bone remodeling, and occult lesions that might otherwise be missed.
